Older people are no slouches when it comes to technology, a report has found, with many "silver surfers" increasingly swapping their radios for a computer.
A poll by property firm Peverel Retirement found that more than half of respondents over the age of 65 went online at least once a day, with the rate rising further in the 75+ age group.
One in three said they never listened to the radio, while 1% said they never used the web - a comparison underlining the decline of radio listenership among older people.
Of those who use the internet every day, 80% spend more than 2 hours a day just browsing.
Geographically, Glasgow has the largest number of regular users (68%), followed by Birmingham and Brighton at 65% and 63% respectively.
Peverel Retirement managing director Keith Edgar said: "This research proves pensioners can give the young a run for their money when it comes to the web.
"With families today often living further apart it is a fantastic way to keep in touch with loved ones."
