A new television network is to be launched later this year which will target viewers over the age of 50.
Vintage TV will feature music, fashion and trends spanning the period from the Second World War through to the 1980s.
The station, which will launch on September 1 on Freesat and Sky platforms, will cover a range of music tastes including rock and roll, glam rock, punk, disco, New Romantics and electro-pop.
Channel bosses are hoping to draw audiences of around 21 million when it launches.
And they said around half of programming will be original content. Vintage has also bought archive footage from other media groups including ITN, the BBC, Channel 4, Eagle Rock and DCD Rights.
David Pick, a former executive at music publisher EMI who founded the network, will be chief executive, while BBC Radio DJ Paul Gambaccini will be the anchor presenter.
Former ITV and Granada head of production Teresa Watts will control production at Vintage, radio producer Phil Swern will be programme and music consultant and TV producer Clare Bramley will act as business-development director.
Mr Pick said: "We'll be delivering a stream of vintage musical content that isn't available elsewhere on TV.
"We will also draw on the wisdom and expertise of a wide range of experienced presenters and pundits to infuse yet more life into that music, allowing it to be appreciated by an even wider audience and thus treasured, as it should be, forever."
