Age UK Leeds provides a range of services and products in the community, which have been specifically developed to meet the needs of older people. We are now looking for Café Assistants

Salary £7.20 per hour. Hours per week flexible.

As a Café Assistant you will be responsible for food preparation and delivery throughout the day including making hot beverages, breakfasts and lunches.

The successful candidate will have the ability to assist customers in a prompt and friendly manner. 

Experience of food preparation in a busy catering environment is essential for this post. Experience of Customer service and food hygiene training would be of a distinct advantage.

You will be based at The Arch Café, Bradbury Building, Leeds, LS2 8JA.

Information & Advice/ Advocacy Manager

Age UK Leeds provides a range of services and products in the community, which have been specifically developed to meet the needs of older people. We are now looking for an Information and Advice/Advocacy Manager. 

Salary £25,694 pro rata/ 30 Hours per week

As an Information & Advice/Advocacy Manager you will be responsible for the ongoing development and quality of information, signposting and advice delivery across the organisation, Management of the advocacy, Information and advice staff, the recruitment, induction, management  of Advocacy, Information and Advice volunteers, Compliance of the service to the Age Uk Brand Partner agreement and client case file reviews, The introduction of appropriate quality standards and to monitor and ensure high standards of customer service.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team, work in an adaptive way & manage change, keep accurate records and develop & implement systems & procedures, lead and motivate a team of staff and volunteers, think strategically to develop the service & plan ahead, Manage time effectively & prioritise workloads, use Microsoft Office, internet, email, databases and spreadsheets. 

Experience of Managing staff, delivering advice services, developing & managing relationships with commissioners, partners and other stakeholders, report writing and management of key performance indicators and delivery on targets are essential for this post.

Experience of setting quality standards for Advocacy, Information and Advice services, providing input into business case development, preparing funding proposals would be of a distinct advantage.

Hospital to Home/Independence at Home Manager

Age UK Leeds provides a range of services and products in the community, which have been specifically developed to meet the needs of older people. We are now looking for a Hospital to Home/Independence at Home Manager. 

Salary £25,694 pro rata 37 Hours per week

As a Hospital to Home/Independence at Home Manager you will be responsible for the ongoing development and management of positive working relationships between Age UK Leeds and major stakeholders to ensure effective integration of our hospital based service with Leeds Integrated Discharge Service. Ensuring that AUKL H2H services provide consistently high quality assessments and support to older people. Assisting the Operations Director in identifying and implementing new service developments to support older people to be safely discharged from hospital to live independently at home. Providing daily reports and weekly summaries to the LIDS operation lead and our Operations Director to ensure we are targeting the correct cohort of patients via the H2H service. Providing line management for the H2H/I&H team of coordinators and support workers. Compilation and management of rota systems with relevant care coordinators to oversee the allocation of day to day work ensuring effectiveness and efficiency to enable clients care needs to be met. Provision of, as required cover for the H2H service including out of hours, bank holidays and weekend working. The recruitment and management of staff and volunteers, in consultation with the Operations Director, to increase for people needing support to live independently and avoid hospital admissions. The development and implementation of new services to provide wrap around care for local older people manage time effectively & prioritise workloads.

The successful candidate will have the ability use Microsoft Office, internet, email, databases and spreadsheets. Work weekends, out of hours and bank holidays as necessary. Pay attention to details and produce accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Work on own initiative and as an organisational representative to external stakeholders. Motivate staff and promote a ‘can do’ attitude with staff to positively manage change. Produce reports and analyse data at all levels to inform service developments. Display excellent personal communication skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people. Plan at an operational level to ensure effective and quality services. Be well organised to manage a pressurised workload. Able to manage time effectively and prioritise in order to meet tight deadlines. 

Experience of effective consortium working to deliver services. Effective budget management. Managing staff teams using a rota system and working as part of a multi agency delivery team. Recruiting and supervising staff and volunteers to deliver services. Developing and managing relationships with commissioners, partners and other stakeholders to provide integrated multi-agency services. Health and/or social care delivery for older people. Delivering effectively against Key Performance Indicators and daily targets, producing electronic reports from customer databases is essential for this post. Experience of Operational management of teams delivering services within a hospital setting. Experience of setting quality standards for social care services. Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use would be desirable for this post.
