Our Information and Advice service provides face to face information about benefits, including:
Our Information and Advice Officer is available Monday to Friday between 9 - 4pm (by appointment) at Park Street Activity Centre. They can also arrange home visits for help filling in benefit forms.
If you would like to speak to our Information and Advice Officer please contact Park Street Activity Centre direct on 01522 527 694.
We also hold a Pension Surgery on Wednesdays between 10-12noon, where a member from the Pension Service is available (appointment only) to assist with any Pension related queries.
On Thursdays we hold a Legal Advice Surgery where a Solicitor can provide a free consultation between 10am - 12noon.
The Seniors Workforce can solve employment problems of both Seniors and Small Business Owners, by introducing one to the other under the terms of a self employment contract. This satisfies both sets of needs at little cost and with minimum bureaucracy.
We operate as a private limited company and our main objective is to utilise the vast resource of skill and experience held by people who have retired or been made redundant from full time employment for both the benefit of small businesses and their own personal wellbeing.
The Seniors Work Force was set up by Seniors, people who have spent many years closely involved with the self employed and small business community. We have the hands-on experience to truly understand and empathise with business needs and senior workforce potential. We can help bring the right people together to do the right job at the right price!
Many Seniors find retirement does not satisfy their needs after spending a lifetime at work. Similarly those who have been made redundant at a senior age need to fill the void. The emptiness of daily life often cannot be filled merely with recreational activity. The loss of recognition and respect can cause much anxiety. The lack of opportunity to use well honed skills and intricate knowledge often means that self confidence is lost. A combination of these factors can lead to a very short retirement often with the onset of illness. The other thing we can boost is the bank balance! Earning power does not stop at 50!
Small Business owners always experience difficulty in obtaining the right employees to maintain or expand their operations. Over the last decade a whole mountain of legislation has been introduced which has made the problem even more horrendous. This legislation has turned the employment of a new member of staff into a potential liability instead of the asset it is supposed to be.
