Wellcheck service

In 2003, Age UK Malvern & District, then Age Concern Malvern & District, was successful in securing funding from Worcestershire Social Services Department to set up a 'Wellcheck' service.

The purpose of the scheme is to assist people who are just beginning to experience some difficulties at home, but who do not yet qualify for an assessment from Social Services. It is available to anyone over 50 years of age who lives in the Malvern District and a referral to the scheme can only be made by a Health or Social Services professional or through the Age UK Malvern & District office.

 

Once the referral is received, our Wellcheck Co-ordinator will arrange to see the referred person - usually in their own home - and then the referred person will be offered an individualised advice pack based on an informal assessment of their needs.
