Volunteer
Age UK Merton relies on volunteers to help us offer vital services in the local community. Would you like to lend a hand?
Volunteering is a fantastic way of meeting new people, developing new skills, making the most of your abilities and doing something worthwhile within your community.
Befrienders
Do you want to make a real difference to an isolated and lonely older person in the community? Why not become a Befriender and visit one of our clients in their home every week for one hour. By providing 1 to 1 support to clients, you help to alleviate loneliness and isolation. Just chatting over a cup of tea can brighten their day! Some clients like to go on short walks thereby helping to keep them active. This role may include referring any issues back to the relevant staff member at Age UK Merton.
The Befriending Service operates between 9am and 7.30pm, 7 days a week.
Activities Assistant
Would you be interested in taking part in one of our great excercise classes in return for helping to check in and collect payments from participants at the begining of the class? We are looking for one or two volunteers to help support our Line dancing and our Zumba classes which take part at Vestry hall - if you would like more information please contact Kourtney on 02086485792 or Kourtney@ageukmerton.org.uk
The Befriending Service operates between 9am and 7.30pm, 7 days a week.
