Handyperson Service

We provide help with small practical tasks for people age 60 and over, who are unable to manage for themselves.

Ring us to see if we can help
Tel: 01908 557 885

Our Handyperson team can help with most practical problems in the home for a standard charge of £10 per hour

.The service is run in partnership with the Royal British Legion and may be free to people who have served in the armed forces, and their dependants.

There are certain jobs we are unable to carry out,  but please get in touch to see if we can help or refer you to another organisation.

We no longer fit smoke alarms but the Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service now fit them for free.

To improve the security of your home we can supply and fit key safes  and wireless intercoms.

We also carry out free Home safety checks to help prevent falls, which are the biggest cause of injury in the home for people over 60.

Please ring us on 01908 557 885

Your security is important to us

  • We will always make an appointment with you in advance
  • Our handypersons carry proof of identity - please ask to see it before you let them into your home
  • Our handypersons are all Criminal Records Bureau checked
  • For larger jobs, our handypersons drive an Age UK Milton Keynes branded van, but for small jobs they may use their own vehicle

Emergencies

We do not offer an emergency service,  but priority is given to urgent jobs wherever possible.

Free energy assessment

Contact our Handyperson team to arrange a free energy assessment.  We will tell you if we can help you reduce your utility bills or qualify for help with central heating installation or double glazing or buying white goods such as washing machines, cookers and fridges, as well as make your home warmer.
