Lunch and leisure clubs
We support a diverse range of older people in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our aim is to improve older people’s health and well-being, help keep people active and involved in their community, build up social networks and friendships and increase peoples’ confidence and self esteem.
Our lunch and leisure clubs provide hot meals, social interaction, activities and a programme of activity through the fit as a fiddle project funded by the Big Lottery. The clubs are delivered from a range of locations across Newcastle.
Referrals to the service can be made in many ways such as by friends, family, yourself, carers, GPs, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.
We offer a range of activities including:
- Exercise classes including Tai Chi, yoga and Wii Fit classes
- Beauty therapy, massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, Indian head massage
- Healthy eating sessions
- Health trainer sessions offering one to one support
- Arts and crafts
- Talks
- Music
- Reminiscence therapy
