For many older people later life can become quite lonely, especially if you are one of the 15,000 over 65's in Newcastle who live alone. Our befriending service can help reduce loneliness through a regular visit from one of our volunteer befrienders, providing contact, company and conversation.

To find out more about our services or to volunteer as a befriender, call our Customer Services Team on 0191 232 6488, call into our offices at 2nd Floor, Broadacre House or email enquiries@ageuknewcastle.org.uk

We have recently launched a new and different kind of befriending service, Phone Neighbours, which can help you connect to a small group of other people who are in a similar situation to you and share your interests, to get to know one another, develop new friendships and support one another to enjoy later life.

You can find out more about phone neighbours by clicking on this link: Phone Neighbours

We can also provide you with specialist support if you have recently been bereaved. Click on this link to find out more: Bereavement Support
