An enjoyable, social occasion
People find the experience of opening their garden to the public, or even to family and friends, fulfilling and rewarding. They enjoy sharing the fruits of their labour, inspiring fellow gardeners and exchanging gardening tips.
Neighbours and local groups can even work together to open their gardens collectively, creating a social event for the whole community.
Opening your garden
Following our highly successful Golden Gardens in 2011 and record breaking Bishop's Garden Open Day in 2012, we are running a whole season of open gardens in 2015 and would love you to be part of it.
You only need to open your garden once, although many people prefer to open their garden at least twice as this gives a greater opportunity to showcase the love and commitment given to developing a beautiful garden.
To make opening your garden as easy as possible we provide an information pack crammed with ideas, promotional material and everything you’ll need to help make your event a success. Also take a look at our Resources page which contains posters and signs that you can
download to use when opening your garden.
Age UK Norfolk’s Open Garden Season runs from 1 May – 31 July 2015, which allows you to open your garden when it will be looking at its very best.
