1. Individuals

The number of older people at risk of/or experiencing disadvantage is reduced.

Advice Service

Every year, we provide confidential advice to 16,000+ older people, their carers and families.

Impact

  • For every £1 of income, we leverage £10 for our clients
  • We provide over 60,000 advice and information leaflets on older people issues each year and have had over 25,000 visits to the advice and information sections of our website.

2. Political

A progressive and incremental shift in political and policy attention to ageing and older people is visible and demonstrated.

Our policy team influences government to make Northern Ireland a better place to age.

Impact

Age NI’s Policy and Influencing campaign and activities are having a direct influence on government policy

  • The appointment of an Older People’s Commissioner
  • A commitment to introduce Good, Facilities and Services legislation in the New Programme for Government, plus make a fundamental review of Health and Social Care

3. Public

A positive shift in societal attitudes to ageing and older people is evidenced.

Our work on improving ageing policy, facilitating active citizenship and highlighting of older peoples’ contribution to our society is helping to create a positive shift in attitudes and approaches to ageing.

  • Each year, we generate circa 30 million OTS articles on older people.

4. Services

Excellent and affordable service delivery which supports independence and inclusion.

Care Services

We provide a range of day, advocacy, domiciliary and residential care services across Northern Ireland.

Impact

  • Each year we provide over 786,000 hours of care to older people.
  • We provide emotional and practical support at difficult times to over 3,000 older people.
  • Our Respond to Music programme is recognised as best practice and enables older people with dementia to have a voice through music.

5. Voice

The voice and influence of age sector networks are increased and strengthened through partnership working with Age NI.

Age Sector Development

Each year, we work with over 7,000 people / groups to increase skills, participation and voice of older people.

Impact

  • Our Age Sector Development team has supported and developed the establishment of 11 sub-regional older people’s networks and helped increase funding of the sector by £3/4 Million this year.
