#Act4Age Campaign

On Thursday 8 June, voters in Northern Ireland go to the polls to choose the MPs who will represent them in Westminster.

Make the election count. Ask candidates in your constituency to #Act4Age and deliver a better future for us all as we age.

  • #Act4Age Actions

Tell your candidates about the issues that matter to you and that are important to older people you know.
  • About #Act4Age

We want MPs to #Act4Age on the issues that affect older people now and in the future.
  • Email Your Candidates

Make the election count. Email the candidates in your constituency to listen to the views of older people and become an Age Champion at Westminster.
  • Become an Age Champion

If you are a candidate, sign up to become an Age Champion and show that you are listening to older people and will work to make Northern Ireland a great place to grow older.

Our Priorities for Action

  • 1: Staying well, feeling good

Although people are living longer, many older people are spending a significant part of their later life unwell or living with a disability or long term health condition that seriously affects their quality of life.
  • 2: Tackling pensioner poverty

Poverty in later life means a miserable existence which can lead to ill-health and isolation. Older people have told us about their struggles to make ends meet.
  • 3: Equal and engaged citizens

Older people contribute to the economy through work, caring and volunteering but face a number of barriers in being treated as valued and equal citizens in NI.
  • 4: Brexit

Older people tell us that they are concerned about creating better future for their grandchildren and for all generations. It is vital that views, circumstances and needs of older people shape decisions made on Brexit and that their rights are protected.
