From 2009 to 2011 Comic Relief provided funding over two years for Age NI and the Alzheimers Society to deliver the Uniting Against Elder Abuse (UAEA) project.
The project aimed to ‘provide independent advocacy for frail older people and people with dementia’ and ‘raise awareness of the problem of elder abuse’ . According to the original Comic Relief ‘Project Start Form’ a number of outcomes were to be achieved between 2009 and 2011, primarily around:

As funding has now ended, we are no longer able to provide support via the UAEA project. However, our Advice and Advocacy Service continues to offer independent and confidential support to older people, their families and carers.
