Age NI, is pleased to announce it has been chosen as Connswater Shopping Centre's Charity of the Year.

Gerry Monaghan, the centre's manager said, 'Connswater Shopping Centre is delighted to enter into a partnership with Age NI as Charity of the Year 2011-2012. We look forward to working together to enrich and improve the lives of older people in Northern Ireland.'

George Jones, Age NI Ambassador who helped launch the partnership, said, 'I grew up around the corner so this is as local for me as it gets! I'm excited to be involved and look forward to the fundraising events throughout the year. So come along and help Age NI raise much needed money!'

Support for the charity will kick off with the 'Grandparent of the Year' competition when Connswater will be searching for the best grandparent. To enter a grandparent and offer them a chance of winning some fantastic prizes, all entries will require a minimum registration donation of £2. Entries must be received by Friday 16 September. The event will conclude with a grand finale at Connswater Shopping Centre on Saturday 1 October.

Full details on how to nominate a grandparent will be available from 1st June on this website and opens link in new window www.connswater.co.uk. Upcoming fundraising events and activities taking place in-store each month will also be located here.
