Asking family, friends and colleagues to make a donation instead of flowers is a very special way to celebrate the life of a loved one.
Every donation is a tribute to your loved one and will have lasting benefits, helping Age NI support people in later life with our vital services.
If you would like to arrange in memory donations, your Funeral Director can advise you on the wording for your newspaper announcement or the Order of Service.
For example –‘Family flowers only. Donations instead of flowers if desired to …’ or‘No flowers please. Donations if desired to Age NI, 3 Lower Crescent, Belfast, BT7 1NR’
We work closely with your Funeral Director to acknowledge every gift made with a personal letter of thanks from us.
We will also send you a list of those people who have donated in memory of your loved one.
A donation can be made in a variety of ways
Don’t forget to tell us who your donation is in memory of so we can acknowledge every gift made.
You can also choose to set up an In Memory Donation page through JustGiving: JustGiving - Make a Page. This allows you to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday of a loved one, any date which is special to them. You can upload a picture and ask friends and family to donate and leave a message of remembrance. This page can be there as a continual remembrance of a loved one and used year after year.
If you are a UK tax-payer we can claim an extra 25% of the value of your donation from the government at no extra cost to you. You can help us claim gift aid by always providing your full name and address.
Thank you for considering celebrating the life of your loved one with a gift in their memory to Age NI.
