Previous winner

Mrs Jill Harvey, Belfast

When my mother was diagnosed with dementia, as a family, we were for the first time, thrown into an area that we were totally unfamiliar with. We are continuing in our efforts to keep mum in her own home for as long as possible. However, it does make you realise how difficult it must be for older people who have no family and no one to speak or represent them.
