There’s nothing like a warm cuppa and the company of good friends and family on a cold, wintry day to bring a smile to your face. But this winter thousands of older people will be suffering, cold and alone without the support of friends and family.
More than half of older people in Northern Ireland feel more isolated than ever from their local communities. You can help us Spread the Warmth and raise funds to care for older people for whom winter brings nothing but loneliness, ill-health and isolation. Please support us by organising a Coffee Morning in your area today.
Johnsons Coffee is supporting the Age NI Spread the Warmth Coffee Morning. You can register for free coffee by organising your own fundraising Coffee Morning for Age NI between October 2011 and February 2012.
Slemish Bakery is also supporting the campaign, offering a Slemish Bakery Hamper to the first 30 people to register their Coffee Morning before 14 November 2011.
It's as easy as ABC!
Just organise a coffee morning and invite your family, friends and neighbours and raise money to help us care for older people this winter.
Register your coffee morning today to receive your fundraising pack and free coffee from Johnsons:

If you can’t attend a coffee morning in your area, maybe you would like to Spread the Warmth with a donation?
Or to donate via your mobile phone, text 'AGEN13 £3' to 70070. You will be charged £3.00 plus one message at your standard network rate. Age NI will receive a minimum of £3.00 from each message sent. If you submit a gift aid declaration following this, we will receive a further 25% at no extra cost to you!
We’d love you and your Coffee Morning contacts to follow Age NI on facebook! Visit us on facebook today, click 'Like' and tell us all about your event: www.facebook.com/agenicharity. You can upload your pics and let the Age NI team know how much you’ve raised! The more interesting, fun and quirky, the better!.
Are you having a traditional coffee morning, or doing something different?
At home, in your garden, the office canteen? Your local church, community centre or school? If you're hosting a coffee morning and want to open it up to the public.
If you're holding a bigger event, do you need to secure a venue? See if your venue of choice would be willing to donate the space free of charge!
Is this an opportunity to catch up with some friends? Something fun for your colleagues to get involved in or simply a great excuse for a family reunion? Whoever you are inviting, you need to tell them all about it.
It's never too early to get the date in your friends' diaries! Send invites, use Facebook or email or traditional post. Use some of our tried and tested ideas on how to publicise your event.
With Gift Aid you can raise even more money. All you have to do is complete the Gift Aid sheet contained within your fundraising pack - or if you've lost that, you can download another one now (PDF 314KB).
By making Gift Aid a part of your event you can increase the value of your donations to Age NI. For every £1 people donate to us, we can claim an extra 25p from the government in Gift Aid. Since the money you raise at your event is made up of lots of different people’s donations, we need to be able to claim Gift Aid from each of these using the entries on the form.
Have you started inviting people yet? Now's the time!
When and where is your coffee morning taking place?

Downloads
A download is a document (like a research report, a leaflet, or an application form) that can be transferred from our website to your computer. You can download a file, view it on your screen, print it, or save it to your computer.
PDF stands for ‘portable document format’.
Most downloads on this website are PDFs. We use this format to ensure that the document looks the same on everyone’s computer (website pages, by contrast, appear differently depending on how people have got their computer set up).
Computers use a program called Adobe Acrobat Reader to download PDFs. If you try clicking on a link to download a PDF and it doesn’t work, you will need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader onto your computer.
The process is quite straightforward and is free.
PDFs cannot be changed. If you need to be able to type into a downloaded document (for example, if we are offering a letter template that you need to put your name on) we will provide it as a Microsoft Word document rather than a PDF. You can then download it, type into it and save it to your computer.
Downloads will open on your computer in a new browser window.
Inside this window (below all your web browser menus), there will be a toolbar with options for you to print or save the document.
Close the browser window to return to the Age UK website.
We have made every effort to make our PDFs accessible to screen readers. Here is an overview of your accessibility options available in Acrobat Reader. Please ensure that you have downloaded the latest version of Acrobat Reader from the Adobe Reader website to ensure that they are included in your version of the programme. You can use Adobe Reader to read a PDF out loud with the following shortcut keys:
You can also convert a PDF into a web page by following these steps:
You can convert a PDF document into a text file for use with other software and hardware such as Braille printers by opening the PDF and choosing ‘Save as text’ from the File menu.
