Age NI welcomes the opportunity to respond to the draft Service Framework for Older People.
Setting standards to ensure that services are of a high quality and available to all older people across Northern Ireland has the potential to change the way older people are treated and viewed when receiving health and social care services.
This is particularly relevant at this time when health and social care is undergoing significant change with the proposals from Transforming Your Care (TYC), the recent consultation on the draft public health strategy, Fit and Well and the current work on Who Cares? The Future of Adult Care and Support in NI.
Embedding high quality standards at this time of change and upheaval can give older people and their families the confidence that they will be treated with dignity and respect at all times and in all situations.
