Do you have some spare time to be a friend to older people living in:
Larne, Carrickfergus or Newtownabbey?

Would you have two spare hours a week to:

  • Support an older person at risk of loneliness and social isolation?
  • Help rebuild an older person’s self confidence?
  • With Age NI’s help build a network of friends for an older person to reach out to?

The only criteria needed to become a volunteer befriender are time and friendliness. We welcome all volunteers but especially welcome over 50’s.

Age NI will support you every step of the way, we provide necessary training, one to one support and out of pocket expenses.

If you feel this is something you might like to get involved with please contact Úna Mulgrew via tel: 07435 960 543 or e-mail: befriending@ageni.org.

The next induction session for new befrienders will be in September 2013.
