Enjoy an exciting range of creative workshops programmed by the Live and Learn project for those aged 50 years and over.
You will learn new skills, renew old ones, meet new people and explore the collections and exhibits of the Ulster American Folk Park. Some workshops will require advance booking. See below for more information.

Shopping in Murray’s Drapers - Thurs 29 August 10am - 12noonExplore and enjoy our Edwardian Drapery Shop in Ulster Street.Experience fabrics, lace, linens and accessories from the past whilst Mrs Murray talks of shop life in the 1900’s.
Making Memories - Friday 16 & 23 August 1.30pm - 4pmCreate your own unique art piece around significant events, stories or people in your life. Materials are provided. This workshop runs over two afternoons. Please telephone to book your place.
American Patchwork - Tuesday 27 August 1.30pm - 4pm Try your hand at American patchwork and make your own aromatic patchwork envelope. Fabrics and other materials are provided. Please telephone to book your place.
Irish Lace - Wednesday 21 August 2pm to 3.30pmJoin Valerie Wilson, Head of Textiles at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, for an illuminating talk on Irish Lace. Examples from our collection will be on display.
Accessorise with Textiles - Friday 23 August 10am - 12.30pmMake your own brooch, coaster or bag from an assortment of interesting fabrics. Please telephone to book your place.
Create with Willow - Friday 23rd August 10 am - 12.30pmUsing organic willow you will create a sweet pea structure for your garden. Places are limited to six so please telephone to book.
Be a Blacksmith - Friday 23rd August 1.30pm - 4pmJoin our blacksmith in the Forge and make a poker with your own unique markings.For health and safety reasons thisworkshop is limited to three people only. Please ring to book your place.
