Older people who are concerned about their benefits as a result of potential changes to the welfare system in Northern Ireland, should contact the Age NI Advice Service.

Jacqui Corscadden, Head of Services, said, ‘Following the announcement that the NI Assembly has voted in favour of the Welfare Reform Bill, the Age NI Advice Service has received many calls from people in later life who are worried about how they will be affected.’

She continued, ‘We’re encouraging older people, who may be anxious about how these changes will affect current entitlements or future claims, to pick up the phone and call one of our trained advisors who will provide guidance and support to their concerns. The Age NI Advice Service number is freephone 0808 808 7575.’
