Age NI is urging older people to apply for free heating and insulation assistance this summer with Warm Homes, a scheme funded by the Department for Social Development.

Linda Robinson, Age NI Chief Executive, said, 'We welcome news that the Warm Homes Scheme has been extended until March 2015 as it’s a helpful initiative that has improved of lives of many older people.'

'When the sun is shining, winter is likely the last thing on our minds. However, if anyone is thinking about making home improvements in preparation for the challenges of winter, now is the time to do it! Doing so could help keep homes warm, cosy and energy efficient all year round.'

'Information about the Warm Homes scheme is available on 0800 988 0559 or at www.warm-homes.com If you need further advice or assistance, contact Age NI on freephone 0808 808 7575.
