CARDI has created a new website called to support researchers on ageing and older people in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The site provides an overview of 31 selected surveys related to ageing and older people. Sixteen of the datasets are from Northern Ireland and 15 from Republic of Ireland.  It allows you to search by key words or undertake an advanced search which is more specific.  The results will provide you with further details about the survey then advise where to access the source survey data.
Director Dr Roger O’Sullivan explains, “We were prompted to set up this portal because many of the valuable data sources in Ireland relevant to ageing and older people are not yet being fully exploited and we hope this site will encourage further data analysis across the island of Ireland.”
Dr O’Sullivan added, “I would like to thank Professor Paddy Hillyard and Dr Demi Patsios for undertaking the audit of data sets and for support by the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister.”
