Age NI’s Head of Services is urging older people to prepare now for the challenges of winter.

Jacqui Corscadden commented, ‘It’s fantastic that the summer sun is still shining and there’s still some lingering heat in the air, but it won’t be long until the nights are drawing in and the cold weather arrives.’

‘Age NI’s Advice Service is overwhelmed in the winter months with calls from older people who are particularly concerned about financial matters. I would urge older people, their family and carers to contact us now on freephone 0808 808 7575 if they’re worried about paying their heating bills or having enough money over winter. We provide a free benefits check and can often help older people to access additional financial support. Sometimes people don’t know what they’re entitled to and others struggle to cope with the complexities of the forms and the claims process. Age NI Is here to help.’

Contact the Age NI Advice Service on freephone 0808 808 7575 today and speak to one of our local advisors in confidence.
