The Department for Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) and Department for Social Development has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) to conduct research for Third Sector Mapping in Northern Ireland.
The purpose of the research is to:
- measure the size and scale of the Northern Ireland social enterprise economy and the community and voluntary sector
- assess the contribution of the Third Sector to the Northern Ireland economy
- assess the potential of community and voluntary organisations to grow into Social Economy Enterprises (SEEs)
- the potential of SEEs to grow into larger, more established social enterprises with export potential.
PwC will engage with a wide range of interest groups throughout the research, including Government departments, social enterprises and community and voluntary organisations. This will be carried out through a series of interviews, an online survey of third sector organisations and workshops to discuss key issues emerging from the survey data.
We would encourage all third sector organisations to take part in the survey and other stakeholders to also get involved and contribute to this important research as it will help to strengthen, grow and shape the future strategic direction of the Social Economy Sector in Northern Ireland.
The online survey is live throughout August:
