A tea and coffee morning to recruit volunteers to the busy Age NI shop in Larne will take place on Friday 7 February from 10am – 1pm at the shop premises on Dunluce Street.

Tracey Parke, Shop Manager, said, ‘We’re looking for friendly, outgoing, committed, and enthusiastic people who can spare a few hours of their time to help out in the shop ticketing goods, steaming clothes, assisting with donations, stock rotation and providing good customer service.’

Joanna Adrain, who lives in Islandmagee, has been volunteering two days a week for the Larne shop and recently won a special award for her contribution of 22 years voluntary service to Age NI.

Joanna commented, ‘Volunteering means so much to me. I truly value the friendship and help from the staff and other volunteers at the shop. Everyone’s so friendly including the customers. I especially enjoy the company and can talk and share any concerns in confidence - it makes a real difference to my life!

Tracey continued, ‘Anyone interested in volunteering at the shop can drop in any time between 10am and 1pm for a cuppa and a quick chat with some of our regular volunteers, who’ll make you feel very welcome.’
