The Crescent Elderflowers Dance Theatre is on a recruitment drive. This Crescent Arts Centre community outreach project, comprised of female dancers aged 55 and over is keen to welcome new members to the fold.
The dance company which meets on Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12noon at the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast, has gone from strength to strength since its inception. With performances at ‘A Crescent Overture’ in April and Feile An Phobail in August, and a starring role in the Changing Ageing Partnership’s Age Awareness Week DVD, the group is hoping to give more women over 55 the chance to discover their dancing feet.
Their weekly dance workshops include movement, theatre, storytelling and reminiscence.
Workshops are facilitated to suit the needs of the group in friendly and sensitive environment. No previous dance or theatre experience is necessary.
Eileen McClory, Choreographer explains, “The workshops are an excellent way to exercise, try something new, discover a few hidden talents and have some fun along the way.”
