Watch Linda Robson's 'First Click'

Watch, pass on, or introduce this short video to someone you know who's new to the internet. Up until a few months ago actor and presenter Linda Robson hadn't ever turned on a computer. Here she talks about how she overcame her online fears and how she now uses the internet to keep in touch with her friends and family.

Thanks to local libraries, regional colleges and community groups some First Click computer courses are already running in every county in Northern Ireland. But we are still looking for more partners to sign up!

BBC Northern Ireland is now inviting community groups with suitable IT facilities to use our free BBC First Click resources to run introductory computer and internet sessions aimed at people aged 55 and over. 

The resources on offer have been developed in consultation with Digital Unite, who run Silver Surfers Week and the Campaign for Learning.

Resource packs include Course Leader Guides with simple session plans on a range of topics, step by step instructions and top tips from experts. You will also receive a useful marketing toolkit, which includes posters, leaflets, pens, balloons and t-shirts. The Course Learner Guides are highly graphical with easy to follow step by step instructions. Other resources include links to BBC WebWise content to practice skills, and much, much more.

If your group is already running an ICT course you can still avail of our fantastic resources.  Why not brand yourselves using our BBC First Click materials and take a great opportunity to promote your course.  All BBC First Click courses will be included on the advice line which is widely promoted on BBC television and local radio.
