Everyday North Tyneside - Care at Home Manager

Salary £25,089- £28,344 per annum

Life Choices Plus EveryDay have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Care at Home Manager to join our growing team. The role will be based at our Head Office in North Shields and will be reporting into the Head of service.

PURPOSE :

  • To assist the Head of Care at Home in ensuring the effective and efficient provision of a quality domiciliary care at home Service, in order to meet the needs and aspirations of customers, their families and friends and to meet contractual obligations, statutory requirements and pre-determined service delivery standards
  • To line manage teams comprising of Team Leaders and PSA2 staff operating in this service, providing supervision and support in line with objectives and standards.
  • To lead and motivate the staff team in meeting the personal care and support needs of customers in a way that promotes independence, respect and dignity of the individual.
  • To lead and motivate volunteers to add value to the work of the Group.
  • To manage the performance of the team including financial, staff and service performance and work to achieve key performance indicators set each year. To take ownership of updating metrics into the Group Balance Score Card on a monthly basis and provide narrative annotations to account for variations in performance.
  • To lead effective two-way communication – delivering Group briefings in a timely and consistent way while providing opportunities for the upward cascade of messages to the senior leadership team.

Requirements :

  • Successful applicant must have a Level 5 in Health and Social Care or a similar qualification.
  • Have an understanding of Health and Social Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and best Interest Frameworks, Safeguarding Vulnerable adults.
  • They should have experience in Management Performance of a service which is people centric, have experience of Supervising / Line Management of staff

Age UK North Tyneside and Age UK Teesside - Older Offenders Officer

Salary – Band 19-25, £17,628 -£21,904 pro rata

Age UK North Tyneside and Age UK Teesside have been working for 3 years to support older offenders and to improve the range of services and support available to them. We now have an exciting opportunity to expand and develop the support we provide to older offenders in prisons across the North East.

PURPOSE :

This role will involve supporting the coordination and development of Age UK Teesside’s and Age UK North Tyneside’s work with older prisoners within HMP Holme House, Stockton and HMP Franklin, Durham Prison providing up to 2 days per week activity in each prison including preparation and liaison work within the prison.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Community development experience, working with targeted community groups
  • Developing and delivering groups and activities
  • Working with volunteers and student placements
  • Developing new initiatives/projects
  • Working with a wide range of stakeholders across the public, private and third sector

EveryDay - Team Leader

Location : - North Tyneside

Working - Hours 36.25 Full Time

Salary- £16,010.00 – £17,463.00 per year

Purpose and Duties

To assist the Care at Home Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient provision of a quality Community Home Care Service, in order to meet the needs and aspirations of individuals, their families and friends and to meet contractual obligations, statutory requirements and pre-determined service delivery standards.

As a team Leader you will be expected to lead and motivate your team in meeting the care and support needs of customers in a way that promotes independence, respect and dignity of the individual.

Team Leaders will be required to undertake on-call duties in order to meet the service delivery and undertake on-call shifts as and when required by the organisation.

To ensure compliance with the Group Safeguarding Policy & Framework, and to report Safeguarding issues in line with the Group Safeguarding Policy and North Tyneside’s Multi Agency Policy.

To liaise with other agencies, statutory bodies and other group’s to ensure overall consideration and the proper co-ordination of all the Customers’ care and support needs.

To review Customer’s Service Plans at eight weeks, six months and thereafter annually recording progress against goals and changes.

To assess Customers and negotiate appropriate care and support plans including carers, families and other agencies where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Health and Social Care Level 3 or similar qualification in a similar field
  • Demonstrable understanding and working knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2010
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application of quality issues and good practice in relation to the client group and service delivery
  • Preferably health & safety qualification

Age Uk North Tyneside are looking for an experienced Carer with Driving Responsibilities to come and work as part of the Wellbeing Centers. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to be able to develop their skill set further. This is a highly responsible position which listens and responds to the needs and aspirations of individual customers and carers within a Dementia centre.

To share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of Wellbeing Centre users, in a way that respects dignity of the individual and promotes independence.

To help maintain the physical environment of the centre and to assist with the general day to day activities in a way that meets the needs and interests of the customers.

Successful Candidates will be required to:

  • To drive and escort one of Age UK North Tyneside (AUKNT) vehicles on a daily basis in accordance with AUKNT policies and procedures
  • To ensure the care and safety of customers during journeys
  • To help customers, by using planned care, with all personal care tasks, mobility problems and assisting in the use of care aids
  • Assist in caring for customers that are temporarily sick and needing, for example changing of a minor dressing, or escorting to hospital
  • Help in the promotion of cognitive and physical activities for customers through outings, conversation and other activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreational interests, reminiscence
  • To assist in setting tables and trays; serving meals; supporting customers over meal times, preparing light meals; supporting customers to washing up and undertaking light cleaning duties as required
  • To read and record accurate daily activities/wellbeing of customers in their personal files, take part in staff and other training and meetings as required
  • To observe customers’ personal and organisational confidentiality at all levels
  • To follow the daily transport route plan
  • To participate in training courses and activities as required
