Fundraising - Community Support
Age UK Northumberland is very much a community organisation. The services we provide throughout the county truly hit right into the heart of the community as every community, be it rural, market town or urban has older people in it.
With this in mind we truly value the support of the local community in raising funds to help us support older people and you can be assured that every penny raised in Northumberland stays in Northumberland.
Schools
There are many ways that schools, both primary and senior schools, can help Age UK Northumberland. Dress down days, selling cookies, book sales, sponsored events are among some of the many ways that schools can support us. We also take part in some national events initiated by Age UK which often have a campaign and learning aspect to them, again we are happy to work with schools on these and can do assemblies and lessons around the issues involved.
Pubs, clubs, leisure and retail
If your pub, club, shop or leisure group is looking to support a charity then Age UK Northumberland would be happy to hear from you. Can you hold a raffle or a coffee morning for us? Can you take a collecting can for your bar or shop counter? If you can then please get in touch.
Faith Groups, Community Groups and Professional Groups
Age UK Northumberland would be happy to talk to any groups who would like to support us in any way. We are also happy to come along and do a presentation to groups who would like to know a bit more about our work and the difference it makes.
Form a support group
Could you form a support group for Age UK in your community? This would be a multi-function group that would raise funds, organise events, represent the organisation in your area and inform Age UK Northumberland about needs and issues concerning older people in your part of Northumberland.
Events and raising money through sponsorship
Age UK Northumberland organises or participates in a number of fundraising events each year and our calendar of events is constantly changing. Please go to our Fundraising Activities & Events page to find out more. Here you will get details about how to take part in the Great North Run, Great North Swim, Edinburgh Marathon Festival and once in a lifetime adventure challenges. It will also have details of other events as and when they are organised.
We are always happy to hear from individuals, groups, schools and companies who would like to organise events in aid of Age UK Northumberland and our Fundraising department are on hand to offer support , encouragement and guidance to ensure that your event is successful, profitable and importantly safe and legal.
If you are lucky enough to secure your own place in events like the London Marathon, Great North Run and other externally organised events then we would love to hear from you and we will send out a sponsorship pack to enable you to fundraise for us.
