Information and Advice Manager

Hours: part time, 26 hours per week.

Salary: £15,273 per annum, (£21,734 - £23,945 per annum FTE, AUNN points 25–28)

Based: Bradbury House, Nottingham

Tenure: Permanent

 

We are looking to recruit an Information & Advice Manager who will be responsible for managing our frontline advice services, ensuring quality provision and contractual requirements are met. Duties will include staff & volunteer management, developing & running services, partnership working, compiling monitoring statistics, quality standard compliance and report writing.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, be able to effectively manage a team and have proven experience in managing advice (or similar) services.

We are recruiting a Housing and Care Options Adviser to provide information, advice, advocacy and support services for older people, their families and carers wishing to consider alternative housing and care options.

 

You will deliver one-to-one sessions, in person and by telephone, including outreach sessions in the County and home visits. You will attend awareness raising events with potential service users and other professionals, and help to recruit and support a small volunteer team to help with project delivery.

 

You will have a background in advice work, preferably housing related, excellent communication skills and be skilled at developing partnerships and promoting new services.

 

You will have knowledge and awareness of housing related support, benefits and care for older people, including relevant housing legislation and local housing provider care.

Tenure: Fixed term, until 31st March 2016 (with possibility to extend)

 

The Silverlinks programme aims to enable older people who are facing life changing choices concerning their homes and living situations to make well informed decisions by:

 

  • Linking older people who are facing a major housing or care decision with those who have dealt with a similar situation so they can offer “peer to peer” support
  • Running a range of ‘Later Life Housing & Care Options’ awareness raising workshops and supporting older people to pass this on to other older people

 

The Silverlinks Co-ordinator will be responsible for recruiting a team of volunteers to support the project. The volunteers will have two roles:

 

  • Acting at peer support for older people
  • Passing on information to older people about ‘Later Life Housing & Care Options’

 

The Silverlinks Co-ordinator will deliver ‘Later Life Housing & Care Options’ awareness raising workshops

 

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills as well as an empathy and understanding of the needs and concerns of older people.

The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing general administrative support to the Membership Team.
