Information and Advice Volunteer Co-ordinator

Hours: part time, 32 hours per week

Salary: £16,119 per annum for 32 hours

Scale: AUNN points 20-23, (£18,638 - £20,400 per annum FTE)

Based: Bradbury House, Nottingham

Tenure: Permanent

 

We are looking to recruit an Information & Advice Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit, induct, train (with the support of externally produced materials) and support a team of approximately 20 volunteer advisers who provide welfare rights advice including income maximisation checks, form completions, and signposting to other relevant services.

 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to effectively lead, support and nurture a volunteer advice team to deliver quality advice. Ideally you will be from an advice or a related background.

This customer-facing role, based in our Derby office (and from time-to-time at our other offices in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire) involves the sale and administration of Age UK insurance and other products, predominantly to older members of the community.

 

Experience of general insurance sales and/or clerical work, whilst useful, is not essential as full accredited FCA training will be provided. More importantly, you will need to have a pleasant, approachable manner, adaptability, patience and, above all, a commitment to providing first class customer service.

1 x 24 hours a week over 4 days (Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat).  

Salary: £12,614 per annum, pro rata

Do you enjoy the company of older people? Could you lead an activity and provide personal care? We require a day care assistant who will join our friendly staff team and help to provide a safe and friendly environment for older people. Previous experience of working with older people with mental health issues is desirable. The successful applicant will serve meals and drinks to older people and will also escort them home on our mini bus. There is the potential for more hours with this position covering staff leave.

 

Candidates should have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and should have the ability to ensure an efficient and friendly service delivery to older people.
