The Promoting Independent People service builds up the self-confidence and self-reliance of older people.

About The Service

The Promoting Independent People Service improves the quality of life of older people by building up their self-confidence and self-reliance.

Funded by Pennine Care, Age UK Oldham’s Promoting Independent People Team provides a service for older people who are feeling anxious about their health issues or long term health conditions. They may have had a life changing event that has left them feeling lonely and isolated.

An older person may need support to regain confidence, help manage their daily life and re-engage back into their community. Here at Age UK Oldham we believe that care and support should be people-centred to help maintain and improve quality of life.

Our PIP Advisor will act as the key link, building up a relationship and listening to the older person’s needs, so together they can create an holistic plan to reconnect socially.
We provide support to engage older people with groups and activities in their locality.
