Our Shopping Delivery and Safe at Home service is available to older, housebound and less-abled people who find it difficult to shop for themselves.

Our Shopping Delivery and Safe at Home is available to older, housebound and disabled people who find it difficult to shop for themselves.  
Provided in partnership with Oldham Council and Lees Co-operative Food Store, we contact customers on a weekly basis to take shopping orders and deliver out to all areas across the Oldham borough helping to promote older people’s independence and ability to stay in their own home.
The service is also available on a short-term basis after discharge from hospital, during an illness or bad weather conditions.  
As well as delivering shopping, our staff are trained to monitor well-being and the home environment, putting the customer, their carers and loved ones at ease that they are safe and well at home as well as linking to other services and referring on if necessary.  
All potential customers are visited by a member of the team and a holistic assessment of their needs and situation is completed.  Reviews are carried out every twelve months or as and when there is a change in a customer’s need or circumstances.
Agreed in advance, we contact the client the day before delivery is due to take the shopping list and our driver and staff member will arrive the next day and will even put the shopping if required whilst monitoring the client’s well-being on the day and checking as appropriate that the food stored is in date and being consumed.  
We try our best to supply the goods ordered if available. If requested we will bring an alternative or refund any unwanted items if a mistake has been made on our part.
When the order is delivered we attach the till receipt to the shopping list and advise will inform you of any items that we have been unable to deliver.
Costs
£6.00 for up to 2 trays
£2.50 per tray thereafter.
Payable by cheque, if possible, supported by a guarantee card, but we are happy to accept cash.
Security and Safety
All client details remain confidential and are not disclosed to other agencies. All our staff are fully trained, Disclosure & Barring Checked and are identifiable by uniform and ID badge.
Any areas of concern are noted and reported to the Service Manager who will take action. Our staff will, if requested, can assist clients to access other services that may be beneficial - including Lunch Clubs, Befriending Service, HandyVan Service, Leisure Activities or even help with form filling, etc.
