Foot care
Sole Mates is a simple footcare service to help maintain and improve the independence and mobility of older people in our community.
It is not a medical service but a common sense approach to basic footcare. Volunteers and Nail Cutters spend time with each client chatting while they trim their toenails and finish with a relaxing, gentle foot rub.
This service is for people over the age of 50 who are unable to cut their own nails through reasons of frailty and difficulty bending, poor eyesight or problems with dexterity.
We offer Sole Mates in older people's homes, day centres and at special footcare sessions in community venues. Regular treatments are given every 6 to 8 weeks, dependent on individual need.
There is a fee of £13 per treatment.
