My Life, My Way
Our home support and companionship service offers older people assistance to live your life in the way you choose to.
By providing the appropriate assistance in the way that people would find helpful; My Life, My Way aims to support and fulfil the lives of those living in their own homes and communities.
Our staff are trained and experienced and can visit during the day at times convenient to you. They will assist in a number of duties relating to your needs, such as: transport and accompany you to health checkups and appointments, take you out for a meal or cup of tea, take you to the shops, or assist you in the home and have a chat. All members of staff are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and are appropriately trained and supervised.
Who uses the service?
Any person in later life who is living in Oxfordshire and feels that they would benefit from a little extra help to enable them to live life the way they want to. We will do our best to meet your individual needs and to support you in your home so that you can be as independent as you wish.
Is there a charge?
The service is charged at £15 per first hour and a reduction may be offered when booking multiple hours. If any mileage occurs during your booked time, it may be charged @0.40 per mile. A minimum of 1 hour must be booked per session, and alternative hours can be arranged by booking in advance.
Payment is required by cheque on receipt of invoice.
Is the service confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality will be maintained and no information will be disclosed about potential or existing users of the service to a third party without clear instructions from clients to do so.
Who can refer?
We have an open referral policy. You can simply call us yourself, or we accept referrals from doctors, nurses, social workers, other professionals, family and friends.
What does the service provide?
A Home Support Worker can assist in the following roles:
- Domestic tasks (light housework)
- Spring cleaning
- Assistance with shopping
- Access to social activities
- Transport to health check-ups/appointments
- Light gardening duties
- Going for lunch or coffee
- Dog walking
- Going for short walks
- Going to a special event
- Writing letters and paying bills
