The New Ban on Age Discrimination

Thursday 6 June, Skipton House, London

Age UK are hosting a free learning event with the Equality & Human Rights Commission and Department of Health on the new ban on age discrimination and how to make effective, appropriate decisions in health and social care.

The impact of housing inequality on older people 

Thursday 13 June, 10pm - 3pm, Tavis House, London

In association with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Housing and Ageing Alliance, Age UK is running this free seminar one day seminar, covering the following issues: 

  • - Patterns of housing inequality among older people
  • - Issues arising for low income homeowners – the ‘Right to Buy’ generation
  • - Gaining access to affordable retirement housing
  • - The financial implications of the shift to private rented accommodation for future generations

Human Rights Convention Event 

Friday 5 July 10am-4pm, Tavis House, London

A joint conference with Age International and Age UK. This issue is a global one but marks the first time that we have created a conference on it for a UK audience.

Aims of event:
• Bring this global debate to the UK
• Strengthen constituency of support in the UK
• Demonstrate the Government’s engagement in this area
