Right care, first time

On Tuesday 27 September and Wednesday 16 November, Age UK held two successful events which brought together providers and commissioners of services from the NHS, GPs, Local Authorities, Foundation Trusts and local Age UKs.

These two events provided delegates with an opportunity to discuss what is currently working well in the system and to share experiences and examples with colleagues which are helping to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions and which result in a safe discharge for an older person. Some traditional myths were 'busted' about what we think is working in the system - with the evidence support - and good practice was shared amongst delegates who were pleased to have a space in which to consider the challenges of raising quality whilst cutting costs.

  • 'The keynote speaker was the Conference highlight'
  • 'There were good examples of pratical solutions implemented - not just policy'
  • 'Hospital discharge is a hot topic! This was a well delivered conference with excellent topic knowledge from all involved'
  • 'Inspiring and practical ideas with evidence on what's working'
