Improving older people's wellbeing

Looking after ourselves

We run programmes across the UK network to improve older people’s physical and mental wellbeing.

We work closely with our local partners to deliver a range of programmes and services across the UK. These vital projects help people stay safe, healthy and independent as they get older.

This is some of what we do and why we do it.

Other wellbeing programmes and areas of work

  • Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST)

Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) is a weekly one- to two-hour-long programme for people living with mild to moderate dementia.
  • Personalised Integrated Care

We provide an innovative combination of medical and non‑medical personalised support for older people living with multiple long‑term conditions who are at risk of unplanned hospital admissions.
  • Safe to be me

The Safe to be me resource guide offers practical advice on providing the kind of service in which older lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) people can feel safe to be themselves.
  • Testing Promising Approaches to Reducing Loneliness

The programme was launched following the Promising Approaches to Loneliness and Isolation in Later Life report produced by Age UK and Campaign to End Loneliness in 2015.
