Falls Awareness Week: Best Foot Forward

Falls Awareness Week takes place every year in June. This year’s Falls Awareness Week will be held on 17- 21 June 2013 and the theme is healthy feet.

Through local events and national media coverage, Falls Awareness Week offers an opportunity for older people, relatives and carers to find out more about falls and take part in the local classes and services that can help to prevent them. Anyone working with older people or in falls service can hold an event, and no event is too big or too small. We have a range of resources designed to help you hold a Falls Awareness Week event.

‘We have participated in Falls Awareness Week annually and find it to be a positive experience for publicising the service, advising on safety issues and team building.'

What to do if you want to run an event or information stall:

Step 1: Find out more

The action pack outlines everything you need to know about running an event, including ideas for activities and the resources available. The Healthy Feet supplement highlights more information on this year’s theme ‘Best Foot Forward.’
