Volunteering
Join us as a volunteer to help older people in your community, learn new skills and meet interesting people.
Can you help us?
We rely on volunteers to assist with and provide the services and facilities that we offer to the older people in our area. Can you help us to help more of our local residents by being a volunteer?
We can offer training and support to you and assist with your expenses while you are helping to make a difference to the quality of life of older residents in the Borough. We will ask you to complete an application form and to supply two personal references. You will also be asked to complete a simple form for a Crimninal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Volunteer opportunities
Office support
Give your time to assist in running the office. Help by supporting the existing staff and volunteers to allow us to extend our opening hours. We would be particularly pleased to hear from volunteers that are computer literate, including Microsoft Office applications.
Dignity Champions
Help an older person in the Alexandra Hospital who may be experiencing difficulties at mealtimes.
Information Centre assistant
Help at our Information Centre on a regular basis. Assist older people with access to information on a variety of subjects including reputable tradesmen, benefits and affordable warmth.
Help from people of any age is always appreciated, whatever time you can give will make a difference.
Call in and see our voulnteer administrator or any other member of staff any morning at our office in Community House, just down from the town centre on the left hand side of Easemore Road or call on 01527 584 653.
We look forward to your help. Thank you.
