Age Scotland is always grateful for any donation of stock. In donating stock you are not only helping us to help people in Scotland, you are protecting the environment at the same time. If you are thinking of donating any items to an Age Scotland charity shop here are some key tips that may help you.

• Age Scotland shops can sell clothing, books, videos, DVDs, toys, games, ornaments and general household goods.
• Most shops can only sell small pieces of furniture but we do sell larger items in selected shops. 
• Clothing and fabric that cannot be worn or used can be recycled through the shops to help people in the developing world and prevents landfill.
• Clearing out your wardrobe can feel great and when you think this clearout can be turned into money to help older people throughout Scotland then you know you are giving something back.
• All money raised by the shops helps people in Scotland through a wide range of local groups, services, grants and campaigning issues. When you donate to an Age scotland shop you are helping us to provide these services throughout Scotland.

How do I donate items?

The easiest way to donate items is to fill up some bags and drop them off at your local Age Scotland shop. Click here to locate your nearest shop.

We appreciate not everyone is able to visit our shops for one reason or another so we have a bag drop scheme across the country. If you get one of our bags through your letterbox, simply fill it to the brim with unwanted items and leave it outside in clear view of the road on the day specified on the bag. Our collectors will come by and pick up the bags between 8am and 5pm and then take them to our shops to sell. Easy!!

Don’t just donate it – Gift Aid it

If, when you bring us your unwanted items, you sign up for Gift Aid, we can claim extra money at no cost whatsoever to you.

This helps us raise an additional 25p on every £1 for every item we sell.
