John is Professor of Law at Aberystwyth University where his teaching includes Medical Law, Welfare Law and Family Law.
His research interests are in the area of older people and the law. His list of publications include topics such as older prisoners, elder abuse, and the link between care home design and human rights.
John has presented papers at international conferences in the UK, Canada, America, Africa, Malaysia, Australia and mainland Europe. He is also a regular contributor to the Psychiatry and Law seminar programme at Harvard Medical School. John is also a trustee of Age UK as well as being a trustee of Ceredigion CAB and a board member of Consumer Focus Cymru.
John joined the board of Age Scotland as a Trustee on 24th June 2009.
