Dear Supporter,
I would like to thank you for your previous support for Age Scotland and ask if you would be in a position to contribute to our work with a donation today. We rely heavily on the generosity and kindness of our amazing supporters like you – who are committed to help us improve later life in Scotland.
We at Age Scotland have a positive, forward looking vision for our ageing society. We work for a better later life for all of us - today and tomorrow. We listen to older people in order to understand what they need to transform their lives for the better, challenging disadvantage and unfairness.
We value older people and believe they have the power to change their lives for the better. Community by community, life by life, we are working towards a Scotland where older people are valued and respected for who they are. Will you join us and make a donation now?
Since autumn last year we have been calling on older people, and their friends, family and carers, to add their voices to our Heal the Break campaign to ensure better, more joined up, health and social care services that meet the needs of every older person. I’m pleased to inform you that we surpassed our target of 1,000 signatures and are now geared up to present these messages to the Public Health Minister on 22nd March.
Now we turn to tackle another barrier older people face in Scotland: isolation. We are working hard on a two-year campaign that will address root causes of isolation. To start with we are supporting community groups to secure commitments from candidates for the local elections, on 3rd May, that if elected they will tackle factors that contribute to isolation in their local environment, such as uneven pavements and public toilets closures.
However, we cannot achieve our goals without your help. Your support is absolutely crucial for the continuity of our work supporting older people in Scotland.
Please consider making a donation now and your gift will help change lives in Scotland through the wide range of Age Scotland’s work, helping improve life for older men and women.
Yours sincerely,
Gizem Fowler
