Very few of us would refuse extra money to help us pay the bills and have a more comfortable retirement. However, many older people in Scotland miss out on extra money each week simply because they don’t know what we are entitled to, or because they don’t claim what’s rightfully theirs.
Age Scotland, in partnership with Age UK, is encouraging older people to make sure they are getting the benefits to which they are entitled. Any stigma attached to benefits is now long past and no older person should feel embarrassed about claiming. After all, if you've put money into the system all your life it's only fair that you take out what is due to you now.
