Challenging benefit decisions

It is often possible to challenge a benefit decision if you think the decision is wrong.

To challenge decisions about benefits and Social Fund payments, contact the Department for Work and Pensions (see 'useful website' on the right-hand side column for contact details).

To challenge decisions about Housing and Council Tax Benefits, contact your local authority.

For more information on challenging benefit decisions, download the 'Challenging welfare benefit decisions' factsheet published by Age Scotland partner Age UK, or else call the Age Scotland Helpline on 0845 125 9732.
