How we can help
Our benefits officers can provide confidential advice and benefit checks. Home visits are available to help complete benefits claim forms.
We can assist where claims have been unsuccessful and represent at appeal tribunals.
Benefits information
Attendance Allowance
For those aged over 65 who require either help with personal care or supervision. To qualify you must have needed help for at least 6 months.
Disability Living Allowance
Very similar to Attendance Allowance, but for those where the need begins before they are 65. Includes additional help for those with mobility difficulties. Neither allowance is means tested. You may claim them regardless of income or capital.
Carer's Allowance
For those caring for someone who claims Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance. Note that the award of a Carer's Allowance may affect certain benefits claimed by the disabled person — always check before claiming.
Pension Credit
Extra money for those on low income or who have made modest provision for their retirement.
Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit
If you are on a low income, you may be entitled to help with rent and council tax.
Remember — If you have been turned down in the past, it is still worth applying again if your circumstances have changed.
