The Diamond Appeal

06 December 2011

To mark our 60th anniversary we launched our Diamond Appeal to raise funds to support people with dementia and their carers, by setting up as many Diamond Drop-In Centres as possible.

The plan is to set up a new service where people with dementia and their carers can drop in to get advice, help and support and maybe try one of the new therapies or activities that have been developed, and most importantly, to talk to others over a cup of coffee.

Dementia is an illness that touches the lives of over 5,000 people in Shropshire and we want the appeal to make a difference to local people and put a little sparkle back into their lives.

The Diamond AppealWe are pleased that we have now raised over £60,000, and we have opened our first Diamond Drop-In Centre in Ketley,Telford in October.

We now need to push ahead with other Diamond Drop-In Centres across Shropshire and still need your help to make this happen.

All of the money that we raise will be spent on setting up much needed local and practical dementia care services in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Could you help us by holding a fundraising event for the appeal — or donating the money raised at an event organised by a club or group of which you are a member?
