Your neighbourhood

Wherever you live in South Lakeland – however isolated you might feel – we are here for you. Often a local Village Agent will be closer than you think.

Who is this for?village agent

Anybody over 50 or their carer(s).

What is available?

Somebody to talk to where you live. Each Village Agent knows the ins and outs of their neighbourhood, as well as all that Age UK South Lakeland has to offer. Wherever you meet, you’ll be able to speak in confidence and they’ll draw on the best information and advice.

Village Agents will also work with people to support existing and new activities. It might be anything from a book club to a prescription delivery service.

Where and when?

In your home or neighbourhood, at a time that suits you. You might meet up with a Village Agent at a weekly information drop-in, a coffee morning or a local event. Or it might be that a home visit is best – whatever works for you.

There are Village Agents in a number of areas:

  • Ambleside & Grasmere- Tony McMichael
  • Arnside and Beetham – Margaret Parker
  • Broughton-in-Furness and Crake Valley – Louise MacArthur
  • Coniston and Hawkshead – Pam Kirkbride
