Suffolk Older People's CouncilThe Suffolk Older People's Council is an independent group that has grown out of the Older People’s Strategic Partnership Board which ended in 2011. We believe that older people have the right to independence, choice and control of their lives.

Suffolk Older People’s Council aim to: 

Build and maintain a diverse membership of individuals and groups of older people
Champion the needs of those people who have difficulty in speaking up for themselves
Enable an exchange of information ideas and experience
Provide a platform where matters of concern to older people can be raised, debated and communicated to those working with them.</span></li>
Promote opportunities to be consulted by those involved in the planning of strategies and services that affect older people.</span></li>
Inform and require action from local and national government departments
Promote a positive image of all older people regardless of age inequality and eliminate age discrimination
