Queen of Eventide – Afternoon Tea
Wednesday 28 September 2011, 2.00pm, Miners Welfare Hall, Station Road, Houghton
· Annual event as part of Houghton Feast celebrations.
· The crowning of the King and Queen of Eventide, entertainment, tea and raffle.
· Tickets £2.00 per head, all now sold but waiting list in place.
· Director of Age UK Sunderland, Alan Patchett will be attending.
· Deputy Mayor and Mayoress Elect of Sunderland (Deputy President of Age UK Sunderland) will be attending.
· Rev’d Ian Waite of Newbottle and City Councillors also attending.
Tea Dance
Monday 3 October 2011, 1.15pm, Miners Welfare Hall, Station Road, Houghton
· Annual event as part of Houghton Feast celebrations.
· Afternoon Tea Dance – Sequence and Modern Ballroom, raffle, afternoon tea.
· Tickets still available at £2.00 each.
· Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Sunderland Elect (Deputy President of Age UK Sunderland) will be attending.
International Day of Older People Celebration
Tuesday 4 October 2011, 11.00am to 3.00pm, Hetton Centre, Welfare Road, Hetton
· Whole day, annual celebration to mark International Day of Older People (01.10.11).
· To recognise the contribution of people in later life and the role that they play in society.
· For 120 older people of Hetton and surrounding area.
· Tickets £2.00 per head, all now sold but waiting list in place.
· Raffle, prizes, entertainment, dance displays, refreshments, lunch.
· Supporters and funders include: Gentoo. Community Chest, Houghton Round Table.
· Age UK’s Hetton & Houghton volunteers have raised money to help hold this event and to match all grants/donations, through coffee mornings/raffles etc., throughout the year.
